Acceptance. Acceptance is what we’re talking about today…it’s what I’m talking about.
You see, sometimes, no matter how much we resist change of something we love, we are forced to accept it. Reality simply forces us to adapt. And…try as I might to remain indignant, as much as I’ve kept up the good fight via online petitions, written my elected officials…it is today that I choose to accept that I cannot control the decision of a man I once believed to be the world’s greatest Kiwi.
Jay White’s pants are gone. You know the ones. The jeans-looking ones he tucked into his wrestling boots and they looked all badass with switchblade marks all over ‘em? The ones he wore when he somehow made that alien-ass looking IWGP World title look cool? The pants he wore when he pinned motherfucking Okada?! The pants he wore when he entered AEW and dropped Ricky Starks with a Blade Runner and everyone was all like “Fuck yeah! Jay White and his rad pants are fucking HERE!”
Well those days are gone. GONE….gone.
Instead we are left with these Lululemon yoga looking pants. And I get it. Bro’s probably had a lot of time doing dojo shit and wanted to look all dojo-y. But in that tag chain match at Redemption homie tucked PLAIN WHITE YOGA PANTS INTO COWBOY BOOTS. Jay, baby, what’s wrong? Something going on we ain’t talking about? You can’t be doing that.
We had a lot of good times, Jay White’s old cool-as-fuck pants. Thank you for those times. As for what will be? I will come to accept what I cannot control, someday.
Some say Jay White is out of place as a babyface. And I counter that he is not because he is not a babyface. Because no babyface on EARTH would ditch those sweet pants and make us watch him drop fools in comfy sweats. That is a bastard move from one of wrestling’s greatest-ever bastards. So when he finally drops someone you love…don’t say I didn’t tell you so.
